Artificial intelligence is increasingly shaping how public sector organizations operate, communicate, and deliver services. As AI tools become more accessible and gradually integrated into everyday work, they raise important questions about their use, benefits, risks, trust, training, and governance. To better understand how public sector employees perceive and experience these developments, the Faculty of Public Administration, University of Ljubljana, together with international partners, conducted the Global Artificial Intelligence Adoption Survey: Perceptions of Public Sector Employees. The survey was carried out between October 2025 and February 2026 and collected responses from 17,101 public sector employees across 111 countries worldwide. The survey examines how AI is used in public sector work, how frequently it is used, how employees assess its impact on performance and work processes, and what kinds of organizational support, skills, and safeguards are needed for its responsible, effective, and sustainable integration.
